I've made websites before but I'm new to the blogging thing. I want to make a blog ike kotaku. com. Do I have to make a template? I have dreamweaver 8 and but I don't know how to make the tables and feeds. Do I have to edit the html every time if I want to add a post? I hear wordpress. org is good but I'm kinda confused about it. I want to put adsense on these blogs.

the best advice I can give you is to use wordpress
    then, read problogger.net
after that, you'll probably find a lot more blogging resources that you can study. Wordpress is the most professional, most customizable, and best blogging software available. Take the time to learn and love it.

If you are serious about blogging then start out hosting your own site. It is very easy to set up a blog to do what kotaku.com is doing. There are plenty of free wordpress (I highly recommend using WP) templates that you can get to alter the look of your blog as you like.

As for editing HTML for each post, you can if you'd like, but WP comes with a built in text editor that does it for you. As for monetizing your blog with adsense, be careful not to do it too quick. Get your site up and running before you start throwing a millino ads all over the place.

Self Plug: I wrote an article on my blog (see sig) covering the 77 mistakes new bloggers make. Have a look. I think it will come in handy for you.

    Good luck to you!
