Hello, thank you for taking the time to read this.

I use hostgator's 10 dollar shared hosting, and they emailed me, saying:
My site only averages about 3000 uniques a month, so don't think thats possible. I think my site is being targeted. What can I do to prevent this? Is there a host who could handle something like this to prevent this from happening?

    I appreciate your help,
    Brad

i suggest getting a new host.

i know that sounds "flip," but: that's what i would do.

there are too many choices today.
    IMHO.

Thanks for your opinion, but won't that just happen again with my new host cause of these attacks?

    maybe.

maybe it's just "not so great customer service & information from your current host?"

afterall, they're the host - shouldn't they be TELLING you it's an "attack?"

maybe that's their unique way of "upselling" dedicated servers? :rolls eyes:

KEEP IN MIND: i'm NO EXPERT on hosting; but i try to apply some logic to these situations if possible.

    again, IMHO.
