    hi. This is jason.

First time running Adwords content. I am marketing for a work from home business in an area in Malaysia, so very targeted campaign. I cannot seem to find more than 2 keywords that are effective. Adwords either state that not enough data is available for prediction or the traffic volume bar for the keywords shows empty. I can get popular keywords like small business etc. need to place bid of more than RM1 dollar or it says not enough to show on first page of google.

Can anyone please help and advice?

    Thank you

What is your CTR and quality score?
Are you advertising with content network or search network?(didn't understand because you mentioned in your first sentence content network but later you said something about the first page and that is advertising on the search network)

under the network and bidding section, I checked the boxes for :google search, search partners and content network. It says my ads will show on content network as well. Could it be my setting?

The fact that, as you say Adwords either state that not enough data is available for prediction or the traffic volume bar for the keywords shows empty doesn't mean that keywords won't work for you - particularly in terms of longtails, having lots of keyphrases that individually have little search volume, but add up to useful traffic altogether is in fact a useful way to get into a very competitive niche where the more obvious keywords are too expensive for you.

It is also always useful to have your seach and your content campaigns separated into 2 campaigns - if nothing else it lets you see more clearly what is happening and what you're spending where and what's working

First, cloce your content network, you are not experienced to manage it
Second, include your CTR, improve your landing page or website, write a high quality ads
Third, increase your price to activate your ads

If you are not experienced with content network i would suggest you to close it by unchecking the content network box.It is hard to profit from content network if you don't have experience + all that fraud clicks you can get.

Try the Ad Preview tool to see if your adverts are being shown

Then look at your campaign there is a little magnifying glass next to your keywords, roll over this icon to discover if your advert is running and reasons why it may not be.

    Other things to check:

Are you targeting the correct location?
Are you targeting the correct language or Google SERP?
Are you bidding enough to get on the first page or two?:p

The final reason may be that Google has decided to manually check your campaign however, this has only ever happened to me once.

I don't think most of you have understood what he's posted - he's still at the keyword selection stage
Adwords either state that not enough data is available for prediction or the traffic volume bar for the keywords shows empty.
Those are the results he's getting from the keyword tool.

I think it would be better to understand basics of adwords before continuing advertising otherwise it can result in losses.

But I have just said that the keyword volume bar shows empty. Doesn't that mean there is no search volume at all? Also, I am targeting only Malaysians within a sub-burb only. Is it a different challenge to do targeted local marketing compared to a targeted international/national market?

Just because google do not have the data does not mean that there is no search for the terms you are using.

you can find out more information by using other keyword tools like keyworddiscovery.com and wordtracker.com These sites will help you find a whole bunch of related terms to use and the number of clicks you can expect to get.

You can also google any of the relevant search terms that you think are relevant and then take the top 5 of these and do a keyword search on google using "website content" This will show you the keywords that your competition are using.

There also tools like hexatrack.com. you can use the free version tohelp find out the keywords that people are using on adwords.

    Good luck.

it sure is.. give it a go:D

You might not get a lot of traffic but if you have enough of these keywords then you should generate traffic.

Dont forget to check out the competitions keywords!

yea, the keyword tool is pretty much redundant for very niche or highly specific terms but by all means get using them!

    Help: Still not getting impressions

Ok. I've obtained about 200 niche keywords, all with very low cpc (RM0.30) targeted to 16 km of my area. According to Adwords, the ads are working, the score is ok but not enough data for Google to predict impressions or clicks. Problem now, my average impression for the past 2 days is just about 20 or 50. I have also created two adgroups instead of 1. When would I know whether the keywords are effective and are actually receiving enough search volume or not for me to keep the keywords?

    Help: Still not getting impressions-con't

By the way, since I am targeting 2 sub-burbs in Malaysia, how do I check to see whether the search volume of a particular keyword is significant enough for me to retain them to get clicks?

The keyword may be active , the ad showing but not on the first page, not enough data for prediction and Adwords says that "campaign's geographic targeting is not supported".

Anyone got experience in local marketing? Will really appreciate your help.

    Thanks
