A story on my blog is getting linked to all over the place today. I've had 5,000 impressions in adsense so far. and single digits clicks........ Is my placement that bad? What should I do? Should I try YPN? Affiliates? This traffic is going to keep coming for days. How do I monetize it? Help me Digital Point forums....you're my only hope! http://www.methodsreporter.com/2006/11/19/playstation-best-buy-ps3-release/ Note: I'm thinking this traffic is pretty web-savvy, which is why there are so few clicks. Still though. There's got to be a way to get it to convert.
So this is just a "one off" then? If you're thinking of monetizing all these visits, you'll need to probably try some CPM stuff BUT if this is a one-off there's no point! PS very nice article
For me, I wouldn't want to click on those ads because they don't interest me. Also, I have my monitor settings on 800 x 600, so I have to scroll to the right to see the ads. I'm not the only one that has these settings. Maybe you could use alt tags on your images to help get relevant ads or ads that you think would interest your audience. Congrats on your increase in traffic.
i floated a chitika right there in the text for 2,000 impressions and didn't get a single click the other day. I'll think about the alt tags. That's a good one.
I see one ad at the bottom and that's it. Try to place a large rectangle at the top of the article and at the bottom
I would move that top banner to directly under your header image although as the others said the ads arent relevant, seeing playstation and shopping ads. You are also using YPN and this post is under Adsense If you have an Adsense account you might have better luck in getting more relevant ads but if you dont contact YPN support and ask for their help on better placement and more relevant ads. *edit: I actually read your blog post and see they are relevant to PS3, sorry typical of me.
Hi TS. When we first saw the website, the google ads were not giving relevant results like YPN is now. Who would've thought.
Yeah adsense really let me down here eh? YPN seems to be giving more relevant results. I'm guessing it won't get any better than ads with "Playstation" in the title. Also, I'm going to try out that ad-engage program like on I am bored. What do people think of the 250 block I slid in there? Is that ok? Does it look like crap and make you want to click "back" immediately? And should the links in the 250 bar be that blue color or the same color as the text (as it is now)? My goal is for people to read the article, but I also would like to get a few cliks here and there as well. And that banner up on top? Is that a waste? TOo much?
Well you are asking people who see these everyday and know exactly what they are. Your readers may not be as aware as we are so to be honest I would leave it as is. Yeah bring that top banner below your header image, I think its being wasted at the very top. Colours are fine on the ads, same as the title links which is good. What I do advise is once you have it set dont keep making changes, just leave it for a week or two and see how it goes. Its all down to testing but you have to give it time.
