HELP, how to transfer old database to a freshly installed wordpress??

hi,

previously i'm using wordpress 2.1.3,
and now i've decided to change a new host,

and hence, upgrading it to 2.3.1 would be a better idea,
now i've already installed the wordpress 2.3.1 on the new server,

but after deleting it's database,
and transfering my old database onto it there's like alot errors coming out the whole site is jamed,

how do i transfer my old database to the new database,
as i still want my posts to be there??

that's ok i think i got it,
i just install a fresh copy of wordpress,

and don't delete it's database,
instead just use my old database and overwrite it,

If you, Still Get Errors With This you Might Want To Try To Find a Word Press Converter to The Newest One Simply Becuase Some Of The Database Information in the newer Version Can Be Different From the Older Version

 

ya it's ok now,
i finally found out that it's not my wordress problem,
but my server load is way off the roof,

making the database connection laggy,
so that's why i'm changing server's next month,

for those that googled this entry,
you might go to your host's "cpanel",

and click on the "view status",
to check your server load to check how much it is...
