Help! how to stop off-topic subscribers to phpbb forum, short of inflicting death

I have installed phpbb - for my site www.ebigoe.com - travellers to and living in the uk site, I haven't announced it to my subscribers yet.

My problem is that lollies subscribe to and make posts that are usually to do with sex, they are not related to UK travel. I have made it so that I am notified of new signups, have added disallowed names. But basically it costs me time to delete these users and posts - but most of all it p*sses me off - seriously if I ever met a spammer face to face - i would not hesitate to *@!/ him up good.

Yes I have included text in topic lines that forum relates to overseas travel only.

Anyway, I used phpbb because it seemed like a good tool (i would like to use boonex dolphin - but i don't have php skills and at this stage want to stick to shared hosting, as I had considered dolphin for the sister site www.bigoemates.com which would then mean the forum at bigoe.com would not be necessary).

If some one could advise a better, less time consuming way of getting rid of /avoiding spammers (in general would be nice) to my forum OR a better way to deal with it (yes vehicular manslaughter jumps to mind) this would be appreciated.

Maybe suggestions of a different (free/OS) board tool to use - one that is not to complicated and can run on shared hosting.

And if no one answers, at least i got to rant and send a clear warning out to time wasters not to stand in front of my car. I'll leave to your imagination what I did when I met in person a fellow gamer who was a camper/spammer.

    Thanks

    Rachel

fyi: Big OE is a New Zealand & Aussie phrase meaning 'Big Overseas experience' - typically to the UK.
