Help - How to prevent chargebacks...

I have a high risk business I am in, we sell data and information to a certain industry and we get a lot of fraudulent chargebacks. Basically people will buy data from us and chargeback or dispute the charge, no matter how well we treat them or service them. We also take checks by fax and people will stop payment on checks also.. Is there a way to get around this issue other than the obvious?

Like a payment service that doesnt allow chargebacks or something???

Yes you are right but once someone complains against you, they will just limit your account and it's a real headache to unlimit Moneybookers account as MB guys are not much co-operative.

every payment processing service have its own dark side... moneybookers, egold etc. dont allow chargeback and reversal but they are famous for deleting account if the buyer report about you to them... there is no solution to fraudulant buyers... the only way you can reduct frauds is by following certain things and make new rules for yoru buyers.... last year i use to have same problem like you do... but then i have done alot of research on the net and found out lots of info... and so now i force my buyer to read my rules and TOS before purchase and i follow some steps before a buyer send me the payment.... its all done by a friend and he check every buyer for any suspecious activities.... and since i have these new rules for my buyer and my friend find out the steps, i haven't get a single chargeback and reversal on our paypal...

also if you can then contant paypal and tell them you sell digital product and tell them that your buyers scamming you for your hard work and stealing your work only because of paypal dispute option and paypal not protecting for digital products... so ask them how can you sell digital product and not get fraudulant payments... and sure they will tell you what you can do....

also made sure you match the IP geo location of your buyer with the address provided in there paypal or CC... if the IP geo location and the paypal address of your buyer dont match then sure its a stolen paypal or CC... these kind of small things can save you from big lose...

You could try holding payment untill after the chargeback period expires before releasing the data. I think it's 30 days for most places.

Yeah, sadly as mentioned above there isn't much you can do. Egold would have to be the best for a seller but people have a lot of difficulty funding egold so it means your sales would plummit.

Its simple sand you can still use paypal, before accepting a paymet look where the fuding source of the payment is coming from if its from a credit card simple dont accept the payment, send it back to the buyer and kindly say

"sorry i dont accept credit card funded payments for security reasons, i only accept paypal paymets fuded from debit card or held funds. This is just a security precausion and not a personal judgement , this is the same for any buyer of my products no matter how big or small, please can you arrange to use one of the alternative fudig options"

If the buyer is genuine he/she will use a debit card or transfer fuds into there account to fund the purchase the scammers will simple not bother, works every time for me
