Help! How to convert 80,000 UVs/Month into real money?

1. Have to find some way to make money in the meantime...
2. Working on physical products, have big plans for the end of the year
3. What exactly do you mean by lists? email lists?

And honestly, lots and lots and lots of time and energy. Following people on twitter. Submitting to stumbleupon, reddit, imgur, etc. Telling all my writers to spread the word. It's been a ton of time, but time well spent.

 

1. I'm not an expert web designer, so it's hard for me to make such changes without making the site look ugly...
2. I have plenty of demo info from quantcast, but obviously, interests are broad...hard to find a niche.
3. I have slogans, they seem to work.

Yeah, my goal right now is definitely focusing on quality content and continuing to build an audience. Just need more cash to sustain myself right now while this thing fully takes off.

 

Well for the time being use adsense to fund your website, build a digital product that is relevant to your niche and collect as many emails as possible to build a list which you can market to affliate offers in the future. it is said that a list of 6000 people can generate upwards of $300 a day. What is your website specializing in and how did you manage to get so many people going to your website?

I don't think the Internet is a place to look for to make money quickly anymore. It could take at least 3 months to start making $1,000 per month.

 

Media/Publishing. It's basically an e-magazine in the vein of Elite Daily but with more content areas. How to go about getting the emails? A promotion?

I got most of my traffic through a shitload of soc media promotion.

To sum it up, you have to sell something that those 80,000 people need. This will provide you the most return on your investment.

 

Yeah, yesterday was a nightmare with Hostgator...tons of sites were down.

 

The funny thing was, after I posted that, my sites went down too for the same reason.

 

Nice, well made content, and per se your design is okay - not great but good enough for now.
More importantly, it is 'proper' content for social media traffic, not seen very often here (sadly).

You could start talking to publisher networks who will take over your advertisement, and or look for the more blog oriented advertising networks like http://buysellads.com/ and offer yourself.

Also you should make sure to update your marketing kit to display more information on the page itself - the pdf should be additional information but not something you have to read through everything and then reread it to get what I can get out of it. (10 second rule of "what do I need to know).

Start partnering with similar site and start approaching brands / companies - if you are good at hustling social media, you should be good at that as well.
Note: you have good interaction on the social channels, but your kit does not reflect that. Also I would expect tumblr and google plus as well, which will increase your prices.

Last but not least you can start doing consulting on your own for other sites how to do social media traffic for them, managing bigger sites etc - that is a source of income for many owners of big sites.

There's a lot to say, but one thing is clear- social media traffic will never make as much money as targeted search engine traffic. The website has a nice design but at the same time it doesn't catch the readers attention.

The website has 60K uniques per month, for a general/news/entertainment site 60K is way to low to even think about earning $1000/m. Private ads or Adsense are the best options at the moment IMO.

 

I'm already making over $1000/m, I just want a lot more, obviously.

 

You didn't mention that in your initial post. (it sounds more like you're making nothing and you're looking to earn $1000+.

Yeah well you could give a way a free report, ebook or membership to your website? just a thought and then get their details, you could also sell advertising space. Pretty sure there would be people that are interested in getting a chunk of your traffic. Maybe you could charge a set amount to have other companies advertise on your pages. If you get a few people advertising with you then it will also help you to figure out what sort of products you can create just by copying what has been successful on your page
