[HELP] How to connect laptop to Pc

    I have a PC - Win XP that uses D-link ASDL router DSL-502 T that connect me to internet via USB port.

    I will buy a Laptop - Vista soon.

    My router has a LAN port too and i have a cat 5 cable and usb cable. I dont have LAN card on PC.

    1. I want 2 things i want both of them to run internet at same time.

    also i want a network b/w two to transfer files and play multiplayer games.

    Can anyone help me in this...

    Get a LAN card for your PC. It is damn cheap today. Your laptop for sure come with the network port.

    get a LAN card and a LAN wire. My brother is also using laptop by connecting it with PC... You will be surely able to connect with this method.. :)

    Go wireless, and enjoy!

    Or you can connect PC with USB wire and laptop with the LAN wire and use VLAN.

    Cheapest way would be to buy a cheap ass LAN card for PC and then share files between computers through router

    Yeah, I agree.. go wireless. That's what I'm on now... 5-6 computers on one wireless router... also my computer has AppServ on it so other people connected to the router can view a folder on my laptop like a website... handy for transferring sound recordings from one computer to another.

    why do you want to connect them? if you wanted a bigger screen then you can just hook them up.

    Just buy a LAN Card, and a straight cable with RJ-45 connector and if u can install Win 7 .U can easily connect Pc to u'r Laptop.
