nobody knows how to get pr! its all depend on google.if you want to get pr quickly for your website.smo(social media optomization) is the best technique.
So many diverse opinions, lol - but thanks to everyone who replied. This post made me think though, how do you know they've updated on April 2nd as opposed to any other date? Is there a link you use to find out when they last updated the PRs?

Wait mate, don't take panic. You are doing all thing in right way, continue to create quality backlink & post unique content you will see the results. Sometimes it happen to get PR from google. Don't stop here, go and do the all hard work you can for your website.
There are many links, none official, that claim April 2 as the last major update. A lot of the PR threads contain info that someone makes up and then everyone else passes around as though it were cold, hard fact. April 2 could be completely wrong, you couldn't prove it by me. Of my three main sites, 2 haven't changed since well before that (not totally surprising, though), and the third came online after the April date.
Used to be a couple times a year. Now random handfuls of pages get updated at random times. Still waiting for any of mine to change... some day... maybe... NOT!
Google always update the PR after 3 months, its not matter that how much work you are doing, it always gives 3 months period to use the fresh articles as well as content for your website. So always use fresh content & your website PR will be increase.
