IMHO, I don't recommend purchasing domains from godaddy. Why don't you choose hostgator. Purchasing domain and hosting from same site can save you from name server crisis.

Changing nameservers is easy - and something anybody can learn in minutes.
Whilst I agree that Godaddy domain names are expensive unless you use their offer vouchers, they have hundreds of resellers using their system with private branding.

I disagree about using the same provider for hosting and domain registration.
Any problems with hosting and it's usually difficult to change nameservers.

Over the years I have had hosting problems with all my accounts at one time or another - but because I register ALL my domain names independantly, it's a simple process of pointing nameservers to a different hosting account and recreating content from backup data.
Sometimes this has saved me losing lots of visitors and $ - for example when a site has gone down to a squeeze page I have paid $$$ for traffic from solo ads that gets sent at a particular time and date.

For now, why not just forget about GoDaddy and register your chosen domain name somewhere else?

I can warmly recommend NameCheap for domains and Hostgator for hosting. I have NEVER had any problems, and the support is great :) and I agree with seafrontsteve, changing nameservers is really easy :)
