My website is about 1 month old, and I'm dominating some of the main keywords on my niche this early. I just noticed a while ago that my website is removed from some of the major keywords. At first, I though it was banned on Google SERP but when I type the full url of my website, it's still there together with the indexed pages. I also noticed that the description of my website is gone on their serp instead it changed to All content © · MyWebsiteName. All Rights Reserved | Terms of Service | Privacy Policy | Contact. Which is coming from the footer. It seemed like Google changed the way they read my website. I wonder if this is temporary or google penalize me. I am promoting my website on youtube by putting the url on the description there, I'm getting 80% of my traffic there and 20% on Google. I wonder if google penalize me from doing this. What do you think guys? I hope this is just temporary.
I think it is likely to be temporary. I have a website which Google gets it's decription from a sub-domain of the site rather than the main page itself which it links to in the results. Only happend in the last couple of days or so.
hubel, actually there's no problem with the description I can live with that, my main concern is that, my website is now removed on some of the main keywords on my niche which really bothers me now. Is this really happening in Google SERP??? Are they giving notifications on the website's e-mail address that they penalized you or is there anyway we can contact them to ask about this situation? How about the others? What do you think about it? Do you guys is it just temporary?
tempegoreng, I really haven't do much of SEO (both onpage and offpage). My niche has few competitors but I was lucky to get on the top 2 right away w/out making too much work on SEO. I just promote it on youtube and bought a link in one of a high PRed website with the main keyword of the niche as my anchor text and that's all. Any other insights guys?
I don't think that Google penalize it for temporarily, instead there may be some other reasons behind it.My site SERP boosted to 1st page on Google for my main keywords during the recent algorithm changed by google.
Sounds like an indexing problem, which Google is likely to correct. Also keyword ranking is dynamic, in that it changes and is influnced by a variety of factors including backlin building, content, page load speed, so just keep adding new content daily and your rankings are likely to return.
when a site is new for 20 to 40 days it ranks really well for the generic keywords and looses its ranks after that... just commit to few new links per month and new content and see results within 3 to 6 months.
The problem is, I just didn't lost my position in SERP but also my website cannot be found on every keyword. I also tried putting only my website name which is unique without the domain extension, and still I can't see my website on the serp. The only way you can see it is if you will type the extension .com Based on my researched about this, It seemed like I'm penalized. Does anyone here knows how much will it take for Google to re-index your website back to normal after they penalized you? d
Thats weird. All you can do is wait to see if the problem resolves its self after a few days. Check WMT to see if you are penalized or your site is having problems.
Since your site is quit new, you should get used to that, new sites rank well in a short while, and then you are going to find them nowhere near the first few pages. However if you continue to promot your site, you will find your rankings back in a few months, sometimes half a year, sometimes 3 months. Have some patience
I sent a reconsideration via webmaster tools and after a week Google reply that they reconsidered my website and they are now indexing it again though I'm back on square one and I do not ranked the way my website used to rank on my niche keywords. They also didn't give me the reason why they penalized it.
Since the site is fairly new, I won't worry too much about it if the site structure is okay and backlinks are fine.
I had the exact same thing, got a new site, went to number 2 for keyword. Boom, gone. Back up to 8th now.
