I've tried on multiple occasions to get my sitre japaneseCupid.com listed on DMOW without luck. There are many other sites listed under the ethnic dating section, yet I'm unable to get listed. Does anyone have any idea why?

I happened to run across this article that talks about Cupid Network's 2500 sites. The directory would rather list the main site, than the sites that are affiliated with the main site. It's addressed in the guideline about what sites to include (or not).

The cupid network is a name I incorporated to be the main entity of the 15 cupid sites I know. I havn't developed the cupid network, and I'm not sure if I will until I generate enough income form the other sites. I plan on bringing them up one at a time as I complete them. Do you think thats what I need to do to get listed?

Lucky for our Matchmaker of the Far East, there is little gain to him from being listed, once, or 2500 times.

Many editors refuse to acknowledge that, probably because it makes them feel like they've wasted months and years of their lives on a project that saw its best day sometime before Noah and the Great Flood.

Unless you have a site in Shopping or Adult, apparently. Then all 2500 are eligible to be listed.

For which you gained a single backlink with no more value than any other. I dare say a band of editors is right now banning every site they can find related to you via your signature. So you wasted $100 and get banned on top. Clever move...

I really do not understand why this isn't a rule violation at DP.

Well since hotpop has now deleted his posts in this thread, I think we can safely assume that they were in fact his sites after all?

Are forum signature links really useful other than to let other posters know who you are?

As with DMOZ, it yet another free (or paid) link and DP ranks well in SE - check for Ivan Bajlo in Google and DP profile is 6 just above my SEW and Axis History forum profiles.

Some forum profiles using keywords as username can take high positions in certain cases so this could be new spammer paradise - creating keywords profiles at busy forums, maybe I should test it here by creating profile made of highest paying Adsense keywords. :D

    These ones? http://www.hotdir.biz/ http://www.entireurl.com/ http://www.22dollarlogos.com/

    Easily checked.

Poor guy, he lost $100 on nothing too. Kind of a doh! moment.

Some kind person sent a donation to the link in mine :) It would have been a far more productive use of that $100 too.

Forum links do help a bit, if only as spider bait.
