do a search for "secured" credit card in canada. many of the major banks offer them, i believe. secured mastercard or secured visa (or maybe "prepaid")
You can get a prepaid credit card. You put money on it and then you can spend only money you put on it. I don't really know what stores have them in Canada, but in the states, you can got to a mall, or at most corner stores.
You can buy prepaid credit card from online also. There are many websites which sell prepaid credit card of visa or mastercard logo.
