Help from duplicate content

    Hi,

I am currently having a problem of duplicate content. I have my own blog where I write new contents regularly. But when I see my blog in copyscape, I found many duplicate content in other blogs. These blogs seems to be robot generated. They just copy the total content from my blog to their blogs.

Please let me know, will Google penalize me for it. If yes then how can i get relief from it.

Any suggestion will be highly appreciated.

    Thanks,

Hmm that is pretty weird, you might want to try the legal section of this forum.

My understanding, and I am by no means an expert, is that Google also pays attention to when the content was added. This means that if your blog came along first then it will not be penalized for others 'scraping' your content. However if you purchased a PLR package or a dishonest writer for your website you might find that the articles originated elsewhere and you will be penalized.

If you purchased PLR it is a good idea to have the articles rewritten before using them on your website. Unfortunately, blog scraping is becoming increasingly problematic and there is very little you can do about.

These scrapers are getting your content one of three ways. If it's NOT the third way, then you can fight back quite easily (without doing any work) and get some free links pointing back to your blog entries as well:

    • They're scraping your content by parsing your RSS feed.
    • They're using a site scraper program/script to rip your content off and copy it to their site.
    • They're copying the content manually.
Here's what you can do to stop the first two:

    AntiLeech (WordPress Plugin)
    CopyFeed (WordPress Plugin)

If your content is being copied manually, find out if their servers are hosted in the United States - if they are, send them a DMCA Takedown Notice. Be sure to send one to the search engines as well so the duplicate content (the real dupe content) gets de-listed from their indexes.
