Hello everyone, I run a member based Pro Evo 6 website called www.backofthenet.info

I currently get 8-10k page views a day and about 200-250 uniques, however i usually only end up with 10-15 clicks worth a few dollars in total. Which is pretty poor in my eyes.

I have experimented with ad positions but because we have many page hits from the same user [remember its member based] they dont tend to click the ads much.

Can anyone please give me any advice!! Thankyou

200 unique generate 8000 page views?

A link unit on the top (near "home" "forum") will perform quite well.
Also you can put a large rectangle ATF on the right sidebar.

Making your AdSense links blue could improve your earning too.

sites with a high page view to unique visitor ratio generally get paid less per click.

    Yes 200-300 people a day generate 8-10k
We have a very high retention ratio of users. They come back many times a day to use the site - which is great in some ways lol.

Thanks for the advice, I will try a link unit at the top by the home / forum links

When you say large rectangular ATF what do you mean? [I dont know the synonym]

I currently am with vizu who placed CPM polls there when they are available which perform well but only appear 10% of the time which means overall they aren't that great.

    Cheers

What's your target (keywords, markets, etc)? If your target has ****ty paying keywords, then that's that, unfortunately :(

    Cheers for the reply...

I setup the site pretty much because I wanted a site to do it, so I set it up to fulfill my own requirements - I didnt design it for adsense...only then a year later i figured I missed a trick.

Anyway its a soccer / football / gaming site [at present] which seems to perform poorly on cpc.

My thoughts were to try improve CTR to improve revenue as its currently at ~0.17% which is reaaaaaaaally poor from what ive seen!

P.s. I stuck the link unit by Home / Forum and added it to a custom channel so we will see how it will perform

I thought I would reply to let you all know how im getting on, plus it may help someone with the same problem.

I have had no success yet with the link unit, but it has only been a day so I will have to wait to get more info on that.

More importantly I went to google adwords and researched high paying keywords in and around the area of my website's subject matter.

I found a couple of high paying ones so I modified my meta tags and put a bit of related info around the site and the adverts started showing up and am getting a lot more per click - which is great! It's a step in the right direction.

Thanks to everyone who gave me some help

    Switch to YPN?

    That's my suggestion, lol.
