One of my ebay niche stores moved to page 1 on Yahoo for a very competitive keyword phrase. I have a question for the gurus Is it ok to put 1 ad on he site that is not related to the niche but is related to the target demographic? This will be simply a banner ad. Any one tried this? pros? cons? I don't have any adsense either BTW my niche store is based on Joomla platform. Very easy to do. Nothing fancy just one of the default templates slightly modified for that niche(header)
Anyone? I thought there were a lot of Ebay Bans pros here I'll put a banner up from CB and see what happens
Can you add a no follow to the banner? If it is totally unrelated I would avoid adding it and build another more appropriate storefront.
it doesnt really matter if its a competitive keyword. Does it receive loads of traffic and well you cant know until you try!
I was sorta thinking along those lines. the conversion is for ebay products is less than 1% So I thought I try to to give the other vistors who are not interested in the products somewhere else to go. like a CB product. What I decided to do is put a rotating banner of some aff. products and see what happens. The thing that concerned me is that I have seen some bans sites with all sorts of ads & adsense on them. I always thought that was a bad idea? But 1 banner I thought was ok.
You should be fine, i did this with one of my sites, it wasnt ranked #1 but it was in the top 10 of goog and after 4 months its still there. But the banner I added didnt really help my earnings at all.
Good luck with it. I have ads from amazon on some of my ebay niche store sites and will occasionally get a sale through that but it usually doesn't have a high CTR. I don't think it will hurt, personally, but in my experience it probably won't help much.
why would you want to give people a chance to click other than on an ebay link? you've got to drop those ebay cookies....they will convert.
