Hello I have a few clients asking me to add a Youtube download option in there sites as they embed public videos from Youtube. I just need to ask that is it allowed from Youtube to let users download videos from these sites? Is that against Youtube or Google policies? I would really appreciate a reply soon with useful information Thanks in Advance
Of course it's against YouTube's policies. Embedding is allowed as long as the person who uploaded the video has enabled that option. http://www.youtube.com/t/terms
Thank you very much for replying to my message. I have seen some popular sites (savetube.com) offering this feature and they also use Google Adsense for long time, If its against Youtube policies why didn't Google Adsense suspend there account as Youtube is owned by Google as far as I know. Any thoughts please?
For all I know, in that case, sites like KeepVid would be illegal as per terms and policies of Youtube. But they are all operating fine. I guess the competition in the video hosting segment really does not allow providers to sue other services that lets users download videos to their hard disks.
I don't know how sites like that don't have their Adsense accounts disabled, because what they are doing is explicitly against the Adsense Program Policies. https://www.google.com/adsense/support/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=105949 If you place ads on such a site you should understand you are risking your Adsense account.
Thank you both Nonny and Traffic-bug , I got my answer now and would suggest my clients not to use these tools on the sites which has Adsense account. Thank You again for your help
