Hi, I have a non US address for my CJ account and is practically declined for almost every application that wants only US traffic. e.g. ebay affiliate, mortgage, credit card etc.... I read that using an Australia address will get the ebay application approved. I wish to know if anyone here with an Australia address has the experience of getting these types of application approved/declined? I would appreciate any feedback as I'm looking into the the possibility of getting an Australia address. Thanks. lowhm
What not just get a US address? I've had no probs signing up with eBay, except for eBay Canada. I've never tried to join the credit card or mortgage programs though.
i did'nt have any problems with ebay.com. most credit providers reject based on your location as they believe you do not target the us. if you are doing ppc you could write and explain especially if you have some bars on your cj account. i have joined over 65 cj merchants from oz with no problems.
Thanks for all your replies!!! I'm asking because I'm in Asia and can't get my ebay affiliate approved. One of the workaround given is to get an Australia account but that will involve some cost. Thus I would like to know if I will enjoy with more success with others CJ's merchant application. Kerosene .... Can I simply get a US address? I though SSN and Tax ID is required for US address application? Do you know a way to get round it? Looking forward to more advice!!! Thanks. Han Ming
Yes, you're probably right - I didn't think of the tax/SSN factor. How are you going to get an Australian postal address? Do you have friends here, or are you planning on using a redirect mailing service?
I have friends in Australia but I intent to use a mail drop service. In the meantime, I am writing to ebay affiliate program to request them to review my application. Hope to get some luck this time.
sounds horrible hee ..... Thanks anyway, I guess the only way is to get an Australia address from the way you sounds .... Thanks again.
Just write to the affiliates saying your site is targeting us traffic and show them the site, that in most of them will help to be approved. If they don't answer or don't approve you after that, then you can sure believe that they are not serious companies.
Hi, Just like to ask for an additional question on this, does anyone with a New Zealand address being accepted as an eBay affiliate by default? I have tried to explain to eBay on CJ that I intend to drive US traffic and showing them example of what I am trying to do, but they still declined me saying that they do not need that at the moment. The reason I asked about New Zealand is that there is a huge difference in mail drop prices. Sorry to be a pain, but I would like to find out more details to make the next step.
