I've built a tool that fetches articles form wikipedia. I need help about evaluating the value of it. please check my site at http://www.wikifetcher.com and tell me what do you think about the price. the price was 29$ and i had a couple of sales in less than a week. so i increased the price and started an affiliate program (which no one attends, i'm not getting much traffic)... how much do you think the product worth? is 49$ too much? Thanks!
Hard to give you an exact price, but here's a suggestion. Pick your price and sell the value/benefits. Example: Hiring a programmer to build this for you could easily cost hundreds of dollars. You're getting it today for only 49 dollars!
Integrov, I'll just add this. A lower price does not always equate to higher sales. In fact, higher prices have been known to generate more sales. Pricing conveys perceived worth of the product. While I don't have personal experience yet about charging higher prices, I will tell you that I work daily with friends convincing them to charge what they really want to charge, instead of being fearful of not making any sales because a price is too high. Believe in yourself and your product. Sell the value/benefits! Don't be afraid to go for it. In an ebook I recently read, the guy relates a story how he had no sales between 29 and 39 dollars. When he finally bumped it to 69 dollars sales started coming in.
Odd that the condition of purchasing the product is acceptance of Wikipedia's license, but your live demo doesn't adhere to that license.
