Nutshell summary: Radio station offered me $10,000 to put an ad on my christmas webcam last year - I turned it down - yea, I'm nuts. This year, it's all for charity ... so I'm suggesting they pony-up $20,000 ... since it is tax deductible. They had me on the show this morning with a repeat planned for tomorrow ... check out the link above which has more details and send 'em a note if you have an opinion on it! ;-)
I mentioned this in the other thread, but they read Hodgedup's email on the radio. You can listen to it at that URL ... and consider "helping" these radio DJ's "find someone who has the authority to sign checks"
Another thing to remind them is that they may qualify for the amended rule for this year that allows for 100% deduction of chartible gifts, versus just a percentage; beyond all of the other benefits of doing a good deed, feeling great about it, great PR, etc. They could also turn it into a challenge which would be great for PR and listener feedback. To that, I mean, issue a challenge on the radio for local businesses and listeners to raise "x" amount and they will match, up to $20K.
I mentioned the tax-deductible aspect of it ... but quite frankly, I'm convinced they only way these guys will donate is if some folks clicks on the "send Email to parent company" on the page - the local station is pretty sassy.
