    Hello,

I will very glad if you guys can help me resolve this confusion about keyword research and tools.

I constantly hear that overture is not reliable because it combines both singular and plural words together. I really do not understand how this is…

For example, if I type in affiliate program in Overture, http://www.digitalpoint.com/tools/keywords/, nichetaxi here are some of the results:
    residual income affiliate program
    affiliate program review
    network marketing affiliate program
    best internet affiliate program
    add affiliate link program

    Now here are my questions

    1. “Does the above keywords/keyphrase not good to target?

    2. Does it mean those keywords are not exactly what people are searching for but the keyword tools made them up?

    3. If these questions are YES – then what do you suggest I should do?

I am worried because I used these tools to get ALL the keyword-rich articles on my website.

    Thanks

Try google adword it will help you out. I had optimize my site according to Overture its really don’t work, though I am ranking top on particular keyword I don’t have enough traffic.

It does't matter which keyword suggestion tool you use; always start with the singular version of your KW. When plural shows up in the related terms, they are used by searchers.

I use free tools whenever possible but there are some free versions of paid tools, that just don't do the "job" well.

To my opinion the free version of wordtracker is close to useless. And the paid version costs much more than an excellent tool I (mis)use.

For $ 50 you can by AdWords Clever Wizard from cleverstat.com
If you are searching a lot it results better? and cheaper! than wordtracker.
    (needs a Google API)

What do you mean, ..."free version of wordtracker is close to useless." ?

Do you mean it gives FAKE results?

I am using it right now and do not want to find myself in trouble.

Have you used the AdWords Clever Wizard from cleverstat.com before? And what do you mean I need Google API?

Sorry for my questions - I will appreciate your reply. :)

    Thanks

No, wordtracker shows of course correct results but the limited results of the free version gives you mostly a wrong overall picture that may lead you to make wrong, or not the best decision.

Concerning cleverstats, I am using it since years with very good results.
Concerning Google (search)APIs, they don't provide them anymore. Originally it was/is a key that allowed you to query the Google database with a program to perform up to 1000 automated searches for rankin positions daily. As I do have one using it with my software, I feel sorry for the last incomplete/incorrect information. I am sure cleverstat has already updated their software to use it without the APIs, but I need to have a look. If you wish to do it yourself just go and visit cleverstat.com
