    Hi

I plan on opening an online pet store selling initially pet clothing, bedding etc the more luxury end of pet supplies, I also plan on selling some of my own designs (bit of sparkle and bling ;)). I need a name that reflects all that well.

All the ones I thought of have all been done already . i.e Posh Pets, Pampered Pets and the like.

If anyone has any suggestions, I want it along the lines of those names, but also catchy.

    Thanks for any imput :)

    Dee

PS I want to settle on a name asap because I plan to open a contest for the logo. This is going to be my own site, so as I have to focus on my clients sites, seems easy to just offer the job on here. Clients sites have to come first, can never find time for my own ;)

I'm directly involved in the Pet Industry too :) It's important to not be confined by using specific words, especially if your brand is going to include many variations. For example, going with a name like 'Dignified Doggy' won't work down the line when you expand to offering cat products.

If the site is going to focus on the luxury pet items, go with something like that. You don't need to have the keyword in the domain name, instead you need to focus on branding your website and the products it offers.

You already came up with a great name for the website: "Sparkle and Bling" and that name could be made into a great logo, Sparkle the Cat and Bling the Dog.... What do you think :) ?

The word "pet" is often used in another way, as in "pet hate" or "pet project", meaning that it is particularly close to one's heart. You could play on this with names like "Pet Obsessions", "Pet Concerns"... etc.

    Hi

Branding is what I was focusing on.

I did think of Sparkle & Bling also but decided against it because initially my own designs would be quite limited, so the majority of the products won't have sparkle and blink, so it wouldn't really represent the site well.

I totally agree that I shouldn't limit myself, that is why I stated Pets as opposed to Pups etc. Because whilst I initially want to focus on pup/dog products if the site takes off I would expand the range to other pets.

I really want something like Pet Planet, Pet Boutique, Pampered Pets, Pet Palace but they have all been done.

    Anyone think or anything similar?

    Thanks

    Dee

Pet Parade, Pet Haven, Pet Heaven, Pettify, Petilant Pets, Petite Pets, Petology, All for Pets, Happy Pets, ... I'm just messing with concepts, which may or may not help. :)

Why are you still focusing on the word Pet? Dog Cat Boutique, Waggle Boutique, Purrs and Woofs Clothing, don't confine yourself to one specific word; like you said, you are going to be branding the store/company and by doing so you can use whatever name, Platinum Companion Clothing is another example.

Thanks for your suggestions I am trying to think of something unique (I know I know, most things have already been done) but no harm it trying to think of something outside of the box.

The reason I am looking at the word pets is because if I am too specific for example Dog Cat Boutique, that won't work if later down the line I want to include equestrian products (for example), if I use pets I can cover the whole spectrum. I don't want a brand name that doesn't fully represent what the site stocks. Companies is a good alternative though

Well after a day spend looking for a supplier that will dropship in the UK it seems like there really isn't anyone or at least they aren't making it obvious :( I found one but I wasn't too keen on their products.

What about amazon.co.uk? They don't have any Pet products you could fill your shop with?
