Hey, just looking for some subjective opinions here! Drupal - modX - Grails - ??? These are the CMS/frameworks I've been looking at. But I'm not really experienced enough to make a decision. I need to do the following (and I realize some of it will have be to be added to the system the hard way...): Forums User Blogs Profiles (complete with Private messages, ratings, and account ratings) Pet/Character profiles. In essence, a second profile that's still controlled by the parent account Auction system with transaction feedback (I may just try to integrate with eBay somehow) Google Maps integration (the site is geographically oriented. User location is very important) System email alerts (new messages, etc) and bulk mailing capability. So, I'm just trying to get my mind around how I'm going to come at this project and what to base it on. My first inclination was to go with Drupal. But with all the non-normal characteristics of the site (every user will be able to have multiple sub-profiles, like characters), I'm wondering if I need to go with something wider open. Obviously, I want to make my development time as efficient as possible. Thoughts and suggestions VERY welcome! -Garrett
hello, your "list of want" are a complete-package-cms, which mean you need to install 3 or 4 different CMS for it. it is compilation of forum CMS + auction CMS and social networking CMS .. For your requirement, usually (i offer to client) build-from-scratch-software, which integrated your need.
