Can you explain why you "sliced" the graphic into several parts and used a table to put a simple graphic into your blog? I do not understand that.

Thats totally wrong. When you split up a graphic into pieces you have more http requests instead of only ONE for your image. So only your header "graphic" is 11 requests... You better do only ONE graphic (1 request instead of 11). Your 11 graphics are 370,9 KByte... only to show a header graphic... If you use one graphic, JPG with e.g. 60% image compression... you maybe end up with 70-90 KByte. Your server does also have mod_deflate, so with the correct usage of .htaccess or vhost settings you can even more compress your graphic. I do not know where you got that "webmaster trick"... but I never heard such a crap before Besides that... you can also save a lot of useless code (your table design stuff)... it's just some CSS lines to add and it's all done. (My blogs do not use such a "webmaster trick" and have big graphics anyway... and they are loading fast)
