Basically, we changed the content of the website to be more directed towards the visitors rather than the search engines. We did take SEO into account of course. We changed the content and title tags for the homepage as well as the inner pages (not the blog pages). I believe the changes we made would have helped SEO ultimately. I still retain the same PR and same rankings for other keywords. But many of the targeted keywords that we are most concerned with have lost rankings. Results: Rankings dropped almost immediately and have continued to slowly drop over the last couple of days. Basically, my question is this: 1) Should I be concerned? 2) Is this normal? 3) Will my rankings be restored, and possibly increased? 4) If this is normal and rankings should be restored, what is the typical amount of time this takes? The website is located here: http://xpirtdesign.com Thanks for your help in advance!
I think this question you should ask first before doing that. Who said, you should change your site meta tag or title tag?? and if you want to update your site content then just refresh your content or update your site with add article or news you take completely wrong decision.. It's all happened because of this.. In this condition you can only do one thing for get ranking back on your all the keyword. Add again old meta tag and old content of your site and try to index complete site. Why we shouldn't change meta tag? Example: If i'm targeting "Unsecured Loans" then i have add this keyword in my meta tag and title tag also and get link on this keyword slowly-2 I build link on this keyword and my site promoted on it after that if I'll remove this keyword from my meta & title tag then google can't find this keyword in my site and my ranking will be drop......
If someone change there meta tag and title tag then how can he get ranking back on these keyword which he was using??? I think we can't get ranking back if we are removing those keyword which are rank well in SERPS..
i think your content might be duplicate.................so change it again according to google's updated algo.................................
I done the same as you have done change content and tags but my site PR improves..Some keywords may loss their position but on the whole effect is favorable..
Actually, I didn't remove any keywords from meta tags. Just rearranged them. And like I said, the goal here was to create quality content targeted to increase conversion rates, which means content focused on visitors and not so much search engines. I DONT think my content is duplicate. That is not the issue here. I'm not a newb. I think you are right. Thanks for the replies everyone!
