HELP! Can't decide on a niche!

Been reading tons about internet marketing and am eager to get a blog up and running. There's only one problem...I can't decide on a niche!!!

I have tons of interests, and know that I need to be using marketable keywords with low competition. Most likely, I will end up with more than one site.

I've been brainstorming like mad...and decided to put this question to my fellow DP members:

How did you choose your first niche?

I just found something I was interested in like you said I made a movie review site / blog If I couldn't decide and I had the money I would do multiple sites or blogs. It is a measure of what you know the most or enjoy sharing the most. I like things better than movies but... Every week people are looking for movie reviews I don't have link sharing or signature privileges yet or I would share my site with you.

What are your hobbies, what do you enjoy doing,,,,? If you were going to leave your full time job, what would you like to be doing for the rest of your life?

Answer those questions, and you should have the best niche for your site.

Find out what you like to do and find a product similar to that.

Throw all of that "marketable keywords" crap out of the window. If you pick your first blog based on keywords you are likelly to fail with a quickness.

Blog what you know and love and make your blog better than everyone elses in the same niche or at least carve out your section of the demographic by offering something that your competitors aren't.

I didn't start my first blog because I wanted a blog. I started it because I wanted to talk about and keep up with Dance Music and then I found out about Wordpress and decided to give it a shot.
I didn't have any notions about monetization or anything like that.
I just really liked and knew a lot about the niche and wanted to get something online.

It's really important to of course choose something you're passionate about, but really chunk, or narrow down your focus within that certain area - example:

"All about coping with aging problems and health issues of very large dog breeds" or whatever - but choose something you can SEO optimize for and compete and win for the keyword terms.

First thing first you should set a blog that really suit your mind...what the topic or the interest you like most.. and stay focus with the topic. The first blog you set up is the key to open the world of reality niche blog. By the time you build your website you will know better about marketable keyword and anything else... Enter the world of blogging first then the idea to make marketable keyword will come later once you know the reality of the industry.

I say it's about knowing how long you're willing to wait before you see results. If u pick crappy niches, then you'll probably give up. But if your niche isn't making money, make it broader a little.

Like me, i chose the hip hop dance niche but no real money there so i expanded to dance and such.

If you choose a niche because you think it's a good one for money and not something you are passionate about, then you will end up quitting the blog before you can make it successful. Trust me when I say that building a blog takes a LOT of work and you truly have to be in love with your niche in order to keep writing about it on a daily basis.

LOL. I just noticed that my "recent blog:" in my reply was a guest post about choosing your niche. That is too funny!
