HELP!!!! Bangladeshi Publishers

I got my first check few days ago. I went to my bang to deposit the check. But I was liks hart attacked!!!! They are saying tht it will take about 60-70$ to deposit the check.!!!!! O live in Bangladesh. How and what I am doing wrong!??? how can i get the money without loosing $$$$. Please help!!!

Well you can try standard chartered Bank in dhaka. they should not charge that much money.

I am not a Bangladeshi publisher, but I believe here is what you should do and you will not even worry about cashing and such for the rest of your life:

Get a debit card account from a USA bank. It is very very easy, and, as far as I know, there is nothing illegal about it, coz I know several friends of mine, who are not American did so even though they've been to the USA only for a few days as a tourist. They didn't get it for Adsense, but it is the same card.

So when you get the debit card, basically, you dont pay anything monthly for that. And they put the money in your account with wire transfer. All you need to do in Bangladesh is to go to an ATM, and withdraw the money. Nothing will be deducted, except for the exchange rate, which will always happen whenever you want to convert some currency to another.

You might, though, need a US address for that. If so, you need to think about whom you know in the US...

i think you went to a local bank with no connection with international banking system. try HSBC or City Bank. they are all over the world

 

Shame G doesnt pay in paypal.

Try any international bank in your city or try to open a U.S bank a/c for non-U.S citizens.

I can see that theres a lot of foreign banks in Bangladesh.
As I am from Kolkata and I can recommend you using State Bank of India. I am with them and they charge no extra bucks for clearing a CitiBank cheque.

Jehaan, your best bet is to use any foreign bank in Bangladesh or you may try to open foreign account with local bank. I know some private banks offer such account but cannot be specific which one.
