    You guys know about computers, right?

    OK. I usually connect to the Internet through a BT Voyager 100 ADSL modem. Early this morning some nasty critter screwed up my PC, system restore wouldn't work so I had to use the built in Compaq System Recovery to restore the PC to its factory settings.

    Unfortunately this screwed up my modem. I've connected through the laptop to get the drivers necessary to re-install on the desktop, but when I try to re-install the software I get the following error message:

    Can't get registry value
    key=software\GlobespanVirata\Adsl
    value=driverType

    Can anybody save my sanity? I have at least ten hours of work to do tonight and I can't type quickly enough on this damned laptop.

    Thanks in advance, guys.

    Never mind. I fiddled with the registry and everything seems to be working OK. That's 4 hours wasted :)
