Help a Wordpress newbie out? How do I install plug ins, and can I do it for free?

Ok, so here is my story: I am an SEO person, usually I just do the SEO work and marketing and stuff like that for my sites, but have someone else build them. Since I want to learn new stuff all the time I have decided I should try to learn more about actually making sites myself, so I am trying to create my first Wordpress site as we speak.

For now, I only have the free version. I've placed all the content on the site and I also played around with the design a bit, but being damaged by SEO I also want to add title tags, desciptions and stuff like that. How do I do that?
(I read somewhere that I need to get a plug in, and I even found some plug ins that I think might work, but how do I get the plug in to Wordpress?)

If I want to add other elements, just for fun, such as ads, html codes, Adsense, Copyscape logos and stuff like that... do I get a different plug in for that as well, or how does it work?

Since I am still learning and I don't know if I will actually use my first site that I built myself for anything useful I wouldn't want to pay for anything just yet. For now I'm just playing around...

Sorry for disturbing you guys with these stupid questions, but I've been googling all night and can't seem to find the answer anywhere... so if one of you wants to explain or direct me elsewhere to learn about it, I'd really apprechiate it!

Headspace 2 or All in One SEO - one of these will take care of your requirements for title tags, etc. (but not both, obviously).

Advertising Manager will take care of your ads via widgets and in-post.

I'm sure folks will have some other ideas about what plugins to use.

    hi! try this!

    1. search for plugins that you want to use for your webpage.
    2. download the plugin.
    3. install the plugin on your webpage.(you won't get lost on installing the plugin. there's a step by step procedure on how to install the plugin.)
    4. after installing the plugin, activate it by clicking activate on the plugins menu.

Hope this will help you!thank you!
