As I've said before if you're just going to do a simple blog Wordpress is great, but if this is a business venture and you want to expand to multiple blogs then I recommend Expression Engine. You can setup blogs with individual domains using a hosting account that allows domain pointers. I use Site5 hosting for this. Just install EE once in your root folder then setup different templates for each blog. There's instructions on how to do this in the EE forums and tutorials, but be sure to check the host server requirements.

    Hi,
I find wordpress is good for my needs.

Your blog structure depends on how you've planned the whole system.

you could set up a blog cluster, eg health.com (you can't get that, but that's just an example).

the subdirectory names are important for SEO reasons (avoid /blog/ unless...)

so you could have a health blog cluster and set up blogs in yr subdirectories, eg.

    health.com/exercise/
    health.com/cancer/
    health.com/diabetes/

    etc.

for SEO purposes, each sub-dir is keyword optimized to rank higher on the SERPs.

    ---
I dont agree that subdomains are 'no good'
each subdomain will be considered a separate website and will give PR as if it is a separate website.

    eg.
    SCENARIO 1
    if you have
    cancer.health.com (PR3) pointing at you
    www.health.com (PR4) pointing at you
you will have 2 links (PR3 and PR4) pointing at you.

    SCENARIO 2
if you have health.com/cancer (PR3) pointing at you
    health.com (PR4) pointing at you
you will have only one PR4 link because both sites are considered part of ONE domain and you only get the higher PR for that site.

I'd say to get yr gameplan down before starting anything.
it saves you a lot of pain later.

Wordpress? Well, but on some hostings may be problem with SEO URLs!
I use netfirms.com hosting, seo url for WP 2.0 does not work! stupid tech. support can't help. (they are outsourced in pakistan or india)
I am not an idiot :) on surfspeady.com the same WP 2.0 does SEO URL for me.
