Hello, I have been making basic HTML web sites for a few years and I am making the jump to MySQL and PHP. I'm looking for a freindly place to interact, ask questions, and ask for critiques of my attempts at php.

Last night I ordered from Amazon:
PHP and MySQL for Dynamic Web Sites: Visual QuickPro Guide (2nd Edition)
Sams Teach Yourself SQL in 10 Minutes, Third Edition (yeah, right)

Ever since I was a kid I have always liked interpreting statistics and finding patterns in data. I have studied demographics, macroeconomics, and stock market data. I like finding new data sets, and making them easier to understand. I like exposing data in a way that speaks for itself. Here's one such analysis: http://www.electionvid.com/taxbill.html#1, you may agree it is easier to interpret than the government's version (excel file). However, I feel limited by my coding skills.

I want to learn to program into websites the patterns and correlations I see in data. I want to present it in a way that is easy to understand, yet well documented (in an academic sense). I believe PHP and MySQL is the way to go,,, but I'm a total newb starting at zero.
