Hello Nice World - White hat? Black Hat?

An introduction to the site leads me to wonder about introducing a website to the web. Is it ok to start promotion of a website with hidden text and other black hat issues for a few months then go white hat once the site is through it's infant stage? Can the engines punish me for black hat even months after the site turns to white hat?

 

I would definitely stay away from any black hat methods. It might get you some good temp results but might come back to bite you later. Patience and hard work is the way to go.
