Hello I am new to this forum and I have a website that I am really struggling to make it visible to some other than myself and my wife... I use joomla that frankly is seem to me like it is not very interested in seo. Well if someone fancy suggesting some good tips on optimizing joomla I would really appreciate . Me and my wife think is great!!! joking...
In my experience, Wordpress is the CMS/Blogin script out there as regards to SEO. I have used Wordpress for a few different projects of mine, and most of my projects are in the top 10 for their keywords. But then again, it really depends on what keywords you are aiming for. First thing to do in Joomla, is to change your URLs to Search Engine friendly URLs 1. Login to the administrator area 2. Choose the Global Configuration option 3. You will now see the SEO settings on the right side. You can enable SEO Friendly URLs by choosing "Yes" in the appropriate checkbox. Next, also need to write Unique Meta description and keywords for your site 1. From the administrator area select the Content menu and Article menu option 2. Now open the content item 3. On the right hand column you will see an option called Metadata Information 4. Expand the Metadata Information box and you will now have the option to add a unique description and keywords which reflects the content you have created. 5. After making the changes select the Save botton. If you do not want the Global site name, global site meta description or global site keywords to appear in each content item you need to complete the above steps for each content item you create. Other then the above steps there are also a few usefull SEO extensions that you can download and install to your Joomla. Talking abut word press i use it for the blog related to my web site and to be honest i have noticed that actually has better idicization than my web site even thou the only think i really did to optimize the blog it was to install all in one seo pack configure it and that was it! That it is why i can really figure out why joomla makes it so hard!!!
