    Hi all,

Been running my own site - www.randomrant.co.uk - for a year or so now, but only really started taking it even vaguely seriously a few months back, and only recently got round to putting AdSense on it. Still very much early days on the AdSense front, so I'm experimenting and seeing what happens.

My traffic is still low as I've done nothing to promote the site at all. Busiest day was around 2500 uniques. An average day will be more like 150.

Anyway, looks like there's a huge amount of useful information around here, so wanted to stop in and say hi before I got back to my education!

    Cheers,

    Baz

    Great site!

    Love the open letters...

Do you do freelance work for writing on other websites?

Hi to everyone who has said hi, and thanks for your comments on my site. I've been writing in some form or another for several years, and started Random Rant so I could write about whatever took my fancy without having to worry about whether it would ever be published anywhere. I didn't really expect anyone to like it, but I've built up a core of diehard fans and the Letter to Skeletor in particular seems to have gone down a treat across the web.

In answer to SEbasic's question, yes I do do a bit of freelance stuff. Mostly games reviews and the like, but I can turn my hand to most things. I'm also UK Contributing editor of 5th Street Magazine (www.5thstreetmag.com), and have just relaunched an old site of mine at www.glenlachart.com. I'm always on the look out for extra work, so if anyone's recruiting...

sji2671 - I know, I always feel hellish haggling in charity shops, but the rules of the Tat Bag state I can only spend two pounds fifty and not a penny more, so sometimes it has to be done. I'm not proud! I do tend to put a donation in the collecting tin to make up for it, though.

mcfox - nae bad, min, yersel'? How many Scottish people are on this thing?!

I AM Hodgedup! And I see a whole army of fellow SEOers, here, in defiance of tyranny. You've come to optimize as free men, and free men you are. What will you do with that freedom? Will you fight?

Aye, don’t use SEO and your site may die, use black hat seo tactics, and you'll live... at least a while. And dying in your beds, many years from now, would you be willin' to trade all the days, from this day to that, for one chance, just one chance, to come back here and tell Search Engines that they may take away our lives, but they'll never take... OUR TRAFFIC!

    Welcome to the forums
