Hi Everyone, Just looking to introduce myself, and hopefully be able to contribute in some way to the forum. I'm a private investigator of 30 years, and run my own private investigation firm with offices across Australia. I hope to be able to put my knowledge and experiences to good use here and, of course, if you ever have any questions about private investigations, I'm here to help! Take it easy! John - TheRealPi
Hi John Welcome to the forum. How long are you in Vietnam for? I gather it's a great place to get away to.
Thanks Sarah, Funnily enough Google Maps does the same thing on my iPhone here, but I'm actually settling some business in Cambodia at the moment haha! I guess it's something to do with the Wifi? But then again, considering the country gets most of its power from Thailand and Laos, I wouldn't be surprised if the internet I'm using is being supplied by Nam. Yeah, I thought I'd get stuck in while I was here, but I'll be back home on Monday... back to the grind. Three weeks is about as much as I need haha. Have you ever travelled Asia? You look the type to enjoy a good trek. Take care, John
Hello John, Welcome to this forum. Hope you enjoy your stay here. Looking forward to your valuable contributions.
I'm a Kiwi, so yeah, I've been about. More into the adventure side than the cities and full moon parties etc. hit Seminyak and Ubud last year - not my ideal holiday destination!!
Fair enough - I've not been around Asia much, and when I've gone it's always been hotel to hotel, so I can't say I've done much exploring just yet haha. But life is short and I feel young, so let's just say it's never too late! I'd quite like to go to Phuket though, the pictures always look so nice but I'm sure Indonesia must be amazing - why do you say it's not your ideal holiday destination? What was wrong with it??
Phuket is good - we stayed at Kata which has got a gorgeous beach, good restaurants and cafes - as cheap or as pricey as you want but without the obvious sleeze that is so in your face in Patong. It's good to get off to Koh Phi Phi too, that's gorgeous but changing, as places do, as it becomes more developed. Seminyak is super commercial and so busy - takes a day or two to learn how to cross the road without taking half an hour. I'm blaming your fellow Aussies for the huge amount of sexual and homophobic wares that are in your face from every second shop. They wouldn't have them if they didn't sell. The drivers are manic so getting anywhere is a mission. I guess if you could get to Ubud and never leave it'd be ok
Hi John. Great to see you here. Never met a PI in my life... Not even online. A pleasure to meet you. Best wishes and regards. Ved
