Hi, my name is Ryan Johnston.

Although this is my first post to this forum, I have been lurking for a couple of years now. I now plan on stepping out of the shadows and participating in the many discussions on search optimization and marketing. There is still lots for me to learn here and I hope to provide some useful information as well.

I have over ten years experience in the online space - providing analytical business services and search engine optimization for diverse clients and industries.

For the past two years, I have worked for Critical Mass (http://www.criticalmass.com), an interactive services firm that architects solutions to help the world's leading companies increase revenues, reduce costs and deepen customer relationships. Critical Mass has worked with some of the world's most admired companies and organizations including Dell, Hyatt, Nike, NASA, Mercedes-Benz, The Home Depot and Rolex.

I have also developed my own company, ryanj creative (http://www.ryanj.org) which specializes in search engine optimization and outsource-management for small businesses.

This combined experience encompasses all aspects of online advertising including code development, business requirements, data-flow diagrams, needs assessment, task analysis, stakeholder interviews and client presentations.

I forgot to mention that I will actually be presenting during SES 2007 in NYC next week. I will be talking about AJAX and the effects on search engine optimization. My colleague at Critical Mass, Jim Mcfaden, will be presenting how they handled search engine optimization with the new Rolex.com site.
