Hello from Budapest(HUN), and Google question

Hi Everybody!

I have my personal web site in its current form since 2001, i have had other websites at geocities and such places before that, but in 2001 I settled down to the current place.

I have never given any tought to SEO or how to make money from the web etc, but at the beginning of this summer I seriously considered, "what should I do to make some money from this?"

I read up some material, found this extremely helpful forum, registered here etc. I was sad to see that my personal webpages all had PR0, OTOH it was good to see that I had 9k pages in Google (and around 150-200 unique visitors a day).

Okay, I thought I should do something to improve my PR, and I let it at that, summer, vacation, the webserver meanwhile went down (so my pages were unavailable for ~3-4 weeks), so I did not do anything, I had other projects on my mind.

But now I got back my account at the server, installed my stuff back and I was to see if I was dropped from Google or what. It seems my pages are gone, BUT when i search my url and then "Find web pages that contain the term "url"" that still says: Results 1 - 10 of about 9,420 for ..., but there are only 2 pages of results! WTF?

Then I just for fun checked my PR and 99% of my 9k pages are PR1 or PR2, and I have two PR4s! I am very happy about it, but I dont understand what's going on, for years I was PR0, I did not do anything, even my site goes down for a month, and now all my stuff is PR1 or PR2. What a mystery, I would love to think about selling some text links, but I know that is still out of my reach, at least for now...
