    Hi folks,

I've been lurking here a while and thought I should register and join in on some of these discussions. As my username and post title would indicate, I am a school teacher, a poor one, with aspirations of creating supplemental income online. I'm hoping to use the tips I find on digitalpoint to optimize my blogs and accelerate my tortoise income to hare status. I've made a little money, learned a little about SEO, and I'm positive that I could be doing more to make my websites better. I'm looking forward to learning more from the DP forumites.

    Thanks,
    thepoorteacher.

Welcome and thank you for the service you provide our people. it's just unfortunate that THEY control what is taught is school..Obviously nothing about creating multiple streams of income. =)

There is a lot of information here.

I assume you know my financial situation better than I do.

As a teacher, I make a decent salary and receive pretty good benefits. My screen name is a play on words, I suppose. You know, like a pity party, too bad for the poor teacher. I blog about debt and money matters, so the poor part plays nicely into my identity. Long story short, the $200k hole I'm in tells me that I'm not doing quite so well for myself.

No, I'm a science teacher in the United States. I have a friend teaching English in Japan and he loves it. I'd love to visit Japan, but I'm not too interested in living anywhere overseas, even in the current cesspool of the American economy.
