Hi all! Brand new to the site (just found it while browsing actually) and looks like there's a lot of good info here! I'm just getting into the web design biz. I'm 31, and for the last 8 or so years i've run another un-related business - but over the last year have come to really enjoy working with the comp! For me, it was time for a career change! I've got some decent skills in Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Flash and Illustrator, i'm learning Flash Catalyst, and i'm getting better at doing some of the server-side work. I think i've got enough background to get started, but I realize i'm still a long way from being able to call myself a "pro" at any of it. I'm working on that though. I definitely plan on doing a lot of reading here, but I do have a question for anyone who might be kind enough to respond - how do I start building a portfolio? What's a good place to start? Cheers!
