Hello everybody, first post for me here at DP but I plan on many more, been a long time reader and a lot of you I feel I need to communicate with to better my future. Basically I feel I have a lot to learn from these forums, one of th best resources I've found on this subject. With help from you guys I started my first niche website and wrote some articles, and spent about 2 hours last night playing around with placement and color schemes. I am not trying to promote my blog, just asking kindly for any pointers on improvement, because there is ALWAYS room for some of that, so your honest opinion would be appreciated and maybe one day if you need something reviewed i'll be the one to do it. I don't know if it's better to PM people the URL, but I'll just put it here as it really has no value at this point anyways, as I haven't gotten any clicks yet! But also I'm not in the stage of driving traffic yet. URL: http://cancer-therapy-help.blogspot.com/ TY for adivce!
OK! I'll be the first one to give a review. - remove the border of your ads. - try to blend them into your site - your link color and text color is too close (hard to identify) - Try to make your blog look organized - write original content is better than copy from article directory
Thanks buddy, I do appreciate you taking a look for me. A few follow up ?'s, if you don't mind. I thought the point was to make my ad's blend in and be hard to identify...but not to the point of violating TOS? Also, I realize I need to write my own content (the first 3 posts are my own writing). But what is wrong with using ezine articles to build links and content?? Thanks man, answering these questions will help and I will take the other advice you gave me and apply it.
IMO you have way too many ads on your home page. You have 3 ad blocks before you see any content. Then every title has more ads around it. I had to try to find content within the ads. I would be very suprised if your bounce rate greater than 10 seconds. Its easy to fill a page full of adsense thinking that you must get full coverage but in reality it takes only 1 ad block to be effective. My intentions are have my visitors use my site then after they have gathered what I offer they use adsense to look for more information. So give the people what they want (content) and they will give you what you want (clicks).
Hey, I appreciate the kind words and advice. Could someone break down the process of building quality backlinks? I realize this is key to the whole deal of PR and the SERPs, but I don't fully understand what they are. Are they links on other domains which point to mine? Thanks in advance, I got some blogging to do.
