Hello webmasters,

I would like to introduce myself and what I am doing.

I am a webmaster of 2 websites. I am doing my business through that 2 websites. Here is the summary of my websites:

1. first website: provides digital/vector street map application for phones. can work with GPS receiver if you have one.

2. second website: provides j2me source code for connect a phone to GPS receiver.

I come to know this digital point forums after I search the net on how to increase traffic to my websites. It has been mentioned in serveral webmaster's blogs that I can use stumbleupon and digital point forums to increase quality visitor to a website. That is the main reason why I join this forum.

As a webmaster, when you join digital point forums, I am sure your goal is same with my goal --> make friend with other webmasters and increase traffic.

So I post my first topic in this forum to introduce myself and would like to make friend with other webmasters, to share our experience in maintaince a website.

If you are j2me developers or have the same interest in mobile phone's bussiness, we can make friend and help each others.

Can you share your experience in promotion of your website?

Let me start first. I will share my experience in promotion a website.

I bought domain on Oct 2007 and started to build my websites on Jan 2008. I read a lot articles/blogs on how to promote a site. I tested all SEO technic that I can find in the net and here is my experience:

1. review exchange program. I join the program. they give me a website to review and promise me my site will be reviewed by other. I try a few days, review about 40 sites but I don't know whether the program will give mysite to other members or not. finally, I give up this technic because it required too much of my time and the result can not be seen.

2. link exchange program. they will ask you to put a code in your site then they put their links on your site. In return they promise they will put your link in other member's site. I also give up this technic because the result can not be checked. They may just make use of your site to display their sell links.

3. link farm. there is a place where they will link to every member's website. I hear that goolge and yahoo hate link farm so I did not join this program.

4. Put link in signature and post as much as possible in forums. --> forum's owner did not like we put link to our website so usually they don't allow us to do that. This is the reason why I did not put my link to my website at my first post in this forum.

5. stumble upon. somebody said stumbleupon increase their traffic, so I just try this technic. I join stumbleupon and submit mysites to them. Don't know whether my site can be stumbled or not?

6. Try youtube, de.lio.us and digg. no harm to try this technic so I just post a link to my website to these website

7. put alexa code on my site. when i first build mysite o Jan 2008, my alexa rank is about 8,000,000+, now it is 2,000,000+ after 2months --> this technic is not bad.

8. Digital point forums. I just follow other webmaster's suggestion. join this forum and see how.

Actually, I am getting tired with all promotion technics, espcially review exchange program and link exchange program. we are all webmaster, right? why don't we work together and help each other. I have an better idea to increase traffic of our website. My idea is very simple: we will review our site each other. no need to join a review exchange program. if you want me to review your site, put your link here, i will do it and write some summary about yoursite. You will do the same for my site.

Further than that, we can help each other to increase our rank in google search by doing simple technic:

Give me your keyword, I will use google to search for your keyword, then I will click on your website that appear in goole search result --> it will make goolge think that your site is most relevant to that keyword and increase your rank in goolge index. We can do same thing for yahoo and msn.

if you want to help me this way, you can try my 2 keywords one by one "Digital Mobile Map" for my first website and "j2me gps" for my seconde website in google searrch and then click on my website.

I am looking forward to hear from you about your experience in promotion a site and would like to know whether you are interested in review and help to build and increase search index keyword for each other website or not?

You may think the idea of "selling source code over internet" is a bit crazy but I still do that because what I think is very simple: there is a lot of "free and messy" source code available for free download (messy in term of very hard to read and understand). So I still can sell the source code that easy to understand and has proper documents.

I have some experience in internet marketing. In fact, I am apply some of technics from internet marketing to promote mysite such as: write some article and submit it to webmedia site, give free product and collect customer information for maketing purpose...

Wish you success with internet making. It is very touch to make money on the net because the person doing internet making usually does not have their own product to sell. They get their product from ebay or other vendors.
