Someone brought this site to my attention thanks to Filesonic's problems.

Bit of a geek as far as electronics go. As in back in the day people loved fixing their cars. I like fixing electronics. And in fact kinda shamed the local computer repair store that clearly (apple store) shouldn't have anything to do with PC's. Which told me my "logic board was fried" (ahem it's a motherboard) and the hard drive was also fried. They wasted a week to figure that out. I knew the drive was corrupted. Was hoping to get the stuff off it. Alas. Everything they did was wrong. Clearly someone dropped something on the keyboard. Have problems with M sometimes. Resetted my ram sticks and viola it booted to ubuntu. So obviously the mb wasn't fried. took a week for a backup drive to come then 2-3 days using a backup program and reformatted the fried drive and 3 months later I'm still typing on a computer with a fried "logic " board and a fried hard drive. Don't think they put it back together right either. Just had a screw fall out from underneath the laptop. Doesn't seem to be an issue yet. Put it back in when the keyboard arrives.
