    Hi Guys

My Name is Dav & I have just launched a new site in a very very competitive market - www.DropAGear.com

It's basically a used car buying and selling website. I've worked as a PHP developer for a few years and have got some basic experience in SEO so thought I'd test out my skills with my latest project. I've been a visitor of this forum for many months & would like to say thanks in advance for any help. I generally read more than I post but I am slowly breaking out of my shell.

    Thanks

    Dav

Congratulations! I don't have much help to offer as I am learning myself, but I just want to say good luck with your site.

Site looks good... but here are the questions I am left with when I visit it:

    1. What location/country does this site target? I am assuming the UK because I saw GBP but I am not sure where I am searching.

    2. When I land on the site, it needs a stronger headline that tells me "What this site will do for ME". To many sites have a catchy name and tag line that leaves me wondering what benefit this site brings and I really feel that is the case.

    3. There are lots of used car sites on the Internet, many of which are run by large car companies, I would suggest finding a niche with your directory

The site itself looks good though!

    Thanks
    Derek

Thanks guys. Thanks for your feedback Derek, I'm on this forum to help improve my SEO skills & as a result hopefully make my website more successful.

The site is currently targeting the UK only, if things go well then the rest of the world (maybe well into the future)

I'm currently tweaking the site and will be looking to rewrite text on the site along with headings, the market is very competitive & finding the right text to put on the homepage is never easy so I will be looking to constantly edit & update to suit. I've currently been focusing on the development side of things & have now only really began to focused on the SEO of the site.

I might possibly look into launching another car site that focuses on a niche market as I have got the basic framework set-up but at the moment I would like to focus on this site & see how far I can run with it.

    Thanks
    Dav
