    Greetings all,

My name is Glenn Leader, and I live in East London, UK.
Geographically, I live about 15 minutes walk from the Olympic
village for the London 2012 games.

I've been a member of this forum for sometime, but not even
lurked in here (hangs head in shame). I'm a long time
contributor to the Warrior Forum, and I hope I can say the
same here in a couple of years. I think the reason I've not
contributed here so far is that there's just so much going on, it's
difficult to know where to start. That's by no way a criticism,
    but a tribute to DPer's.

    A bit about me:
I was born in 1956, so at this time of writing, I'm 51 years old.
I'm a single dad to two wonderful grownup children. I'm going
to be a grandfather for the first time in October, my daughter is
giving birth to a son. I'm not sure who's more excited, my
daughter, her partner, or myself. I also have a son, who's about
to start college in September. He lives at home with me.

I discovered recently that all my jobs where I got job
satisfaction is helping people solve their technical problems.
Why it took over twenty five years to realise that, I'll never
know. I was a Senior Laboratory Technician for 14 years for
the local Education Department, and then I went on to be a
Senior ICT Support Engineer for the same Authority for a
further 10 years. I was forced me to re-evaluate my life in 2004
when my job was made redundant. I decided never to work
for another jerk again. The only way I can guarantee that is to
    work for myself :p

I've developed three products in the past few years, with two
    more in the pipeline.

I'm not going to give any URL's here because it's not my
intention to pimp my products. This post is for information only.

My first efforts to develop a product resulted in Keyword
Evolution Pro. This is a keyword manipulation tool, many of my
users who own lots of keyword tools will now only use KEPro
    almost every single day.

My second product is SLOBS - Super Lazy Organic Blogging
System. This is a very simple system for organically posting
    articles to blogs.

My latest product is ArtiFact, a content rewriting system. This
outputs high quality articles (provided you enter high quality
information) with millions of unique variations. Tests have
shown that ArtiFact produces upwards of 70% unique human
readable articles. In some cases, there was 100% uniqueness.

I've earned very good money out of my system. And if I didn't
live in East London, my money would probably go a lot further.
In some countries I could live happily off the organic sales of
    my products.

All three products have something in common, and here's a
lesson for those who dream, but never act. All of these
products evolved from the problems I was reading in forums
that people had, and that I knew how to solve.

If you know how to do something that people badly need (i.e..
lots of similar questions in lots of forums), get off your backside,
    and create it.

It doesn't need to be perfect, but it does have to be good
enough. Then let user feedback guide the future development of
your product. I'm not saying you should produce crap, far from
it, but it should be good enough to fit it's intended purpose. If
you waited for perfection, you'll never get out of the starting
    blocks.

Don't let the lack of your resources stop you from succeeding.
Beg, steal, or borrow what you need. If you need to create
videos, then download the 30 day trial of Camtasia. If you want
to create a report, but your English isn't good enough, write it as
best you can and ask for critiques in the forums.

There are always ways to overcome hurdles, if you can't jump
over them, run round them instead. You will find a way to jump
over the hurdles at some time in the future, you never know,
somebody might take you aside and show you how to jump
    over them.

As Nike says... Just Do It!

If this post helps just one person to create their own money
making products, then it's been worthwhile writing today.

Here ends my first post to the Digital Point Forums, I've just
followed my own advice. Onwards and Upwards.

    Glenn

    Welcome; great introduction...

Your ArtiFact idea sounds awesome, I'm sure plenty of people here in the content or content creation subforums would love to hear about that thing....

So you won't be training to take part in the 2012 Olympics....instead you will be mainly sat down making plenty of money and enjoying yourself.

Top first post. Congrats on your daughter expecting your grandchild. My Dad would be very jealous. He was 70 a couple of weeks ago and he is still waiting:D

I know it's a long way away but have you any plans during the Olympic games...watching it live or getting away from it all and renting your home out???

    Welcome btw.

Thank you very much for your kind words on my first post and my welcome. I
can't always promise to write as much in future posts, unless of course, I'm
    the topic of conversation. :D

I've already been offered unreal money just to be able to camp down in my
front room during the Olympics. Looking at making £1000/day from that
alone... I must remember to Hoover the carpet before then :p As I'll be 56
years old by the time the games come around here, I think I'll knock the 100
metres on the head.. I'm not as fast as I used to be, and besides, I want to
give some kids the chance of winning for a change.

Thanks for your warm welcome, it looks like I'll
feel at home in these forums. Ironically, I'll be
removing ArtiFact as it stands at this moment
from the marketplace very soon, it's just far too
powerful to allow people to use, they just don't
understand the power functions, let alone use
them to their full potential. they'd be better
off letting me manage all their content needs from
a central point, so that they can spend time
enjoying the benefits from my system.

Nah, I'm not good enough to do content writing, I'd rather outsource all the
hard work, and concentrate on the 'brainiac' stuff. Thanks for your welcome :)

    Thank you very much

I talk about myself, and other people like it :D

Thank you, I go by the philosophy, if you can't blind them with Science,
    baffle them with bullsh!t :D

    Thank you Karl :)

    Hey Glenn,

Wow, as the others have said - Great introduction! Did you use your product to write that ;) ...only kidding.

Sounds like you've got a very good and marketable product there. I'm sure you'll find plenty of takers here on DP.

Good luck, I hope you find what you're looking for :)

...oh and good luck becoming a grandad! :)

    Cheers, p.

LOL.. I would have used ArtiFact if I wanted several million unique versions of
my intro... Thanks for the warm welcome :)

Yep, I hope so too. Once I've completed the testing on multi blog platforms,
my system will be open to the public, although I'm toying with the idea of
letting in a select few before it goes public. I normally offer a discount early
adopters for my systems and products.

Thanks.. am getting rather excited as the time approaches.
