I guess there's also the factor of how much "service" you can expect from a free forum. If this place went paid, I'd be gone thats for sure.

Yeah, these are my ideas. :)

Don't waste time when people don't provide the info you seek or at least give some indication that it meets your requirements. I haven't bought too much lately around here as mostly everything looks to be from some scammer or some scammer who bought an aged and well used DP account. The one thing I am sure of personally, is that I do not want a decent site I buy to be listed by name on DP. I've made that mistake before.

Why, what would be the issue with that happening?

    1. The thread listing the domain can rank for the domain name, which is not really helpful as far as I am concerned.
    2. If you seek to sell it later, the offering price and other information from your purchase might be readily available.
    3. If someone does a search on your domain name, they instead might find a DP thread about it having once been for sale.
    4. There are some assholes who clickbomb people they disagree with so that is another possible reason not to want to list domains that one owns.
    5. Privacy in general

Try searching the domain names of some of the sites listed for sale and I think you will see what I mean. :)

That particular gripe seems to have dried up lately. I wonder if Panda has fixed that problem.

Why is it not an issue on Flippa? And wouldn't an easy fix for majority of that be the ability to close/delete a thread once it's sold? Like you do a car ad once you've sold your car.

I haven't used flippa in like 5 years so I can't really say. Threads, unlike car ads offline, do not go away, they just age. Threads on this forum are not deleted with limited exceptions.
