I saw this article http://www.i ndependent.co.uk/opinion/faith/heaven-a-fools-paradise-1949399.html what do you think of heaven? I guess even atheists have some ideas.
seems no one interested about heaven! or it discussed already? I guess at least we can share our idea and also what our religion said about. Koran mentioned about heaven with some details in some part that I share a bit of them in brief as: Chapter 56: AL-WAQIA (THE EVENT) in the gardens of delight, (12) a host of the ancients (13) but only a few from the later generations. (14) on lavish couches (15) they shall recline, facing each other, (16) (and there) shall wait on them immortal youths (17) with goblets and ewers, and a cup from a spring (18) that will neither make the head throb, nor intoxicate, (19) with fruits of their own choice (20) and any flesh of fowl that they desire. (21) and wide eyed houris (22) like hidden pearls, (23) a recompense for all that they did. (24) Chapter 52: AT-TUR (THE MOUNT) but in the gardens the righteous shall live in bliss, (17) rejoicing in all their lord has given them, and their lord will guard them against the punishment of hell. (18) (it will be said): 'eat and drink with a good appetite because of that which you did. ' (19) (they shall be) reclining on couches ranged in rows and we shall wed them to houris (virgins of paradise) with large wide eyes. (20) those who believe, and whose descendants follow in belief, we will join their descendants to them. and we will not reduce them of anything of their deeds. every one is pledged for what he has earned. (21) we shall give them fruits and meat as they desire. (22) there they will pass a goblet to one another with neither idle talk nor sin, (23) and youths, of their own, shall pass among them as if they were hidden pearls. (24)
saw an interesting documentary on the discovery channel about the quran and some alleged misrepresentations/manipulation to suit modern radical islamists... "42 virgins in heaven" that the quran seems to promise in heaven is in fact GRAPES and not virgins...apparently the word "virgin" is a false translation and and is very similar to the word "grapes" ...IF what they say is true then you only get 42 grapes in heaven ... im not muslim and i dont know anything about the quran but i find it hard to believe that a religion that promotes a non decadent life and modesty and piety for women would promise any sort of "orgy" in heaven or any decadent way of life even in heaven...just does not sound right to me... i have no problem with islam i dont care what religion one is but it would be a very funny if there really was a heaven and the suicide bomber got only 42 grapes LOL...
There is the universe to explore that is real and if there is an everlasting those already accomplished may not allow Heavens entry so easily, without conditions / perrils....the good life on earth is only a beginning.
Anytime a priest says you will be rewarded(Heaven, virgins, eternal life, a cookie) for any performing any questionable activity(strapping a bomb to your chest, killing someone, cutting off contact with people, voting a certain way on a certain bill), it may be time to find a new religion, or at least a new church/pastor.
what's you thinking or your religion said about heaven? in Arabic grape and Virgin haven't any similarity. "Ozraa" means virgin and for beautiful women as Angel on heaven come with word of "houry" ploral "houris". houry is virgin every time you want her! Arabic word for grape is "Anab".
I can't bear those who still believe in fairy tales after 12 years old. But what else can we expect from people? We are not exceptional in any way, and since we have brilliant minds, we also have under developped ones and the majority of people sit in the middle, highly influencable.
it's not depond on Islamic prists and clerics. in fact Mullahs try to show good aspect of Islam to followers regard to hadith and some part of Koran but they can't change all part of Koran! I guess you meant we need new version of Koran! lol you invaded Muslim lands, so it's normal to see Koran command for defense. even if you don't fight against Muslim, Koran ordered what Muslim had to do: Chapter 9: AL-TAWBA, BARA'AH (REPENTANCE) Verse 29 "fight those who neither believe in allah nor the last day, who do not forbid what allah and his messenger have forbidden, and do not embrace the religion of the truth, being among those who have been given the book (bible and the torah), until they pay tribute out of hand and have been humiliated. Chapter 5: AL-MAEDA (THE TABLE) Verse 51 "o you who believe! do not take the jews and the christians for friends; they are friends of each other; and whoever amongst you takes them for a friend, then surely he is one of them; surely allah does not guide the unjust people." can tell it for some Middle eastern Governments that want to be friend with USA and western countries.
the documentary on the discovery channel said that the quran was not written in modern day arabic but in some other ancient language...it was on TV months ago i dont remember exactly what language they were talking about... im no expert on the quran to tell the truth i dont know much about any religion...but i ,personally, find it hard to believe that a religion like islam that promotes a non decadent and modest life would promise any sort of harem in heaven...in the documentary they said that grapes had a symbolic meaning in the quran (i dont remember exactly why) and that "42 grapes" is a more probable and more accurate translation than "42 virgins"... again im no expert on this im just repeating what i saw on TV it seemed very interesting to me...also i dont believe in heaven or hell...if im wrong then this is just the way god made me
The Quaran is pretty explicit and it takes little to use it against the west. All one has to do is find the passages and voila, there you have it. I cannot find hatred within the B'Rit Hadashah but religious leaders use it to manipulate people. It's easy when a leader gains trust and molds the following. But most people love to sit back and let someone else tell them what to do, so now you have a mass load of people acting and thinking irrationally. The effect thereof is more visible now than ever. Question is how to stop it, but IMO people do not want to. They feel comfy in their own belief system and are afraid of letting go of what they think they know.
Existence of heaven or whatever there is in heaven is of least concern to me, because I know even if there's something like afterlife...I'll (like most of us) definitely be going to HELL.
it is my opinion that heaven does exist. The qualifications to enter heaven are explained clearly in the Bible. Everything is subject to interpretation, but I believe the New Testament gives the exact parameters for you to qualify to enter heaven upon your death. All the best … Ron
