~ Health care may have a new twist / life if the Republicans win the Senate seat previously held by Ted Kennedy, Tues. Jan. 19. - pols indicate an upset.

~ May actually benefit the liberals who have had to compromise the most and have the least to lose.

The only reason a Republican would win that seat would be because the majority of voters in a liberal state specifically do not want the heath care reform to go through. For a Republican were to win that election and then turn around and help push health care through, he/she would be recalled.

~ That is exactly true and Democrats have an opportunity to fully explain their proposal with the loss and should hold their ground and with reconciliation (majority vote) pass the legislation anyway.

It would certainly make the 2010 elections landmark, to the point of being legendary.
