220... and they even got a Republican vote. It's officially bipartisan. Screw Olympia Snowe, we don't need her now.

I'm curious about the two new Democrats (who won CA-10 & NY-23 on Tuesday) ... did they both vote for the bill? Because if so it appears that Tuesday's wins were actually a really huge deal.

How is the US going to pay for a $2 trillion healtcare package when already Social Security is paying out more than it collects in payroll taxes?

39 Democrats voted against the bill.

The Democrats only have 59 votes in the Senate minus Olympia Snowe and Joe Liberman.

#1) It's not $2 trillion, it's $1 trillion. And it's already paid for (it actually cuts money from the deficit.)

#2) Right. 39 Democrats voted against it and 1 Republican voted for it. Why? Because the Republicans have purged almost all of their moderates and the way they are already going after the one moderate Republican that's apparently left in the congress because of his vote on this bill. It's easy to have party unity when only the base of your party is left.

#3) Snowe's power is gone. Now that the bill is already officially bipartisan, her vote is no longer necessary. Lieberman will fall in line when it comes to the cloture vote or his power will be stripped. He knows that. He doesn't want to be completely powerless for his last few years in the senate (he's obviously not winning re-election.)

I don't know why "the greatest country in the world" cannot afford "affordable" health care for all?
This rich men's greed should be opposed, it is wrong immoral and it hurts America ....
life overall is not just about money and wars as right wing republicans are trying to make it look like.

Doctors and clinicks should not be allowed to rob people..... Come on just to get a tylenol pill in the emergency room you are charged $100, for a 15 min. gocotor's work they charge you over $800.... is this heatlhcare??? Yeah, that's the right wing republican health care system, they love money more than anything else.
My wife got a ultrasound while pregnant, it took about 1/2 hour work (nurse), GUESS HOW MUCH THEY CHARGED THE INSURANCE?
    $1,100!!

I dont think you understand the problem. Im going to end up moving to mexico this rate im done paying high taxes i like being independent not having to pay for every person who walks in with a sob story this includes

    -Welfare cases
    -Failed companies
    -Goverment
    ect

I spend 12 hours a day working doing, reading, building blog, and working my terrible job just because i know one day i will reach the american dream. Meanwhile i had a girl last year call me her slave because i pay my taxes why she has babies. This is no joke im not kiding she said everybody is her slave while i pay for her to live on welfare and go to school and do drugs/drink.

Im sick of it. I love tax loopholes because that is what our country was founded on.

    -Small goverment
    -Low taxes
    -Liberty
    -Personal responsablity.

Im sick of this i work hard, dont do drugs, help my community and it never ends. Handouts for everybody.

You know i dont legaly have to pay an income tax. Show me where i have to pay the income tax. The income tax is voluntary not manditory. Dont belive me watch this video.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BSW_M5_jPkA

The problem is regulations. With monoplolies companies can do what they want. If you were to start an insurance company can you in 10 years compete with a huge insurance company. The answer is no there are to many regulations. It there was more competition companies couldnt do pre existing condition because no one would pay money for it. Do you get it? does anybody get it i fell as if ron paul views are dead and people think free goverment handouts are fun.

Anyways im done with this socialism. I watched my parents for years stuggle to pay for people who cant get it together and corruption. Im sick of it time to Opt out or move out!

You are obviously part of the elite rich in this country that does not pay enough in taxes already. This health care package is exactly what this country needs.

Sure it will raise premiums on non-govt plans before there is only the govt. plan.
Sure it will cost more than the 1 trillion dollars advertised once you add in the doctor fix for medicare and dozens of other hidden costs.
Sure it will not be deficit neutral since it is being scored on 10 years of collection against 7 years of spending.
Sure it does not address tort reform, anti-trust issues, competition beyond state lines and many other issues that would actually significantly cut costs.
Sure it levies trillions of dollars in new taxes and fines on businesses and individuals in the middle of the greatest recession since the great depression while unemployment is over 10%, the dollar is plummeting in value, and Moodys is planning to remove the US Treasury's AAA rating because of our unsustainable 12 Trillion dollar debt.
Sure most of those who will pay these new taxes and fines will be those who earn lass than the $250k/year definition of rich provided to us by the Obama administration.
Sure it does not have any wording that specifically prevents it from funding abortions or health care for illegal aliens.

What it does do is something very very very important. It gives many people who do not currently have insurance, insurance! All those young people (invincibles) who were not contributing into the system (opting out) because they rarely get sick, now will be contributing members, though only to the tune of $32/month if they make under 25k$/year. All those "middle class" dual income people who were not paying for insurance because they are barely making enough after taxes to try and save for a home will now no longer take advantage of the system. They will be contributing as they should. All those poor people on welfare will be covered, just in case their state didnt already have a socialist health program for the poor like medical(Californa). All those illegal aliens who we were providing critical care to anyway in the emergency rooms, can now be covered for the same quarterly doctors visits the rest of us legitimate people have.

When you weigh all the negatives against the fact we are insuring millions of new people, the beauty of the thing is OBVIOUS! So quit being a racist, obstructionist, right wing nut job, who is clearly bought and paid for by the insurance company lobbyists or is just too stupid to realize you've been completely indoctrinated to complain about something that is in your own best interests.

The point is, we voted for Change, and here it is. Yay!!!! CHANGE!!!! HOPE!!! YAY!!!!! CHANGE!!!! HOPE!!!! YAY!!!!

Just saying the words and looking at Barack's picture on my wall (right next to Che) makes me want to jack off.

a percentage of the health care cost is the profit for the insurance companies. i do not have a problem if this money actually goes for health care.
does anyone knows what percentage is the profit of the insurance companies?

Think how much the wars cost, think how much America gives away to Egypt, Israel etc money wasted but not on Americans (who need it).

In my view a government should take care of their country first.

Health insurance companies operate on a 2-5% profit margin. There are also many not-for profit insurance companies, though not in my state.

Sure, think about anything other than the Trillion dollar economy killing pink elephant you are about to buy. Great advice from the non-Americans.

what percentage of people are uninsured?
and some money will come from a reduction of cost of malpractice insurance by changing some laws in regard of punitive damages. and some money can be saved by unifying procedures for insurance payments. there is enough money in health care to cover the health needs of all people.

Maybe someone should check his Freezer for any stashed loot.

:cool:The guy just voted the way William Jefferson would have. . .for that highly Democrat populace in Louisiana. He, Cao, probably thinks his vote, even as a Republican means, possible long term, "job security" for himself.

They did... The MSM should really reconsider their coverage of Tuesday's elections when it now looks like the two Democratic House victories were actually key to getting health care reform passed.

~ The house Democrats gave up plenty to pass the bill and will face giving in even more for the Senate - With midterms coming up and lacking the votes to pass what they want its hard to see how this legislation will not turn into a disaster for the Democrts....give them credit for at least trying.

I saw the micheal moore picture and it explained everything. Im a ron paul libertarian. I belive in ending the federal reserve bank that allows these guys to do this. I dont know if you have ever study economics i doubt so but barrack obama is going to ruin this system.

Here is the Ron paul Video where he pwned michael moore for being a complete idiot http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Hn6ad4_FzM

Michael moore is an idiot like ron paul says you have a right to your life but you dont have a right to be irresponsible like michael moore. Michael moore is obesity is disgusting he is everything this country wasnt founded on.

Michael moore says capitalism is bad why didnt he donate the money he made from his recent film to charity? because he is no idiot he knows people like you will spend 10$ for a ticket 20$ for food and he sits back and just counts the money.

Look at the Obama deception it was a free movie on youtube didnt cost a penny for me to watch meanwhile michael moore is making people pay money for a film he says we need to watch.

Look at ron paul videos 5 Stars on youtube micheal moore 3-3.5 stars.

"The point is, we voted for Change, and here it is. Yay!!!! CHANGE!!!! HOPE!!! YAY!!!!! CHANGE!!!! HOPE!!!! YAY!!!!"

Not all of us voted for change in fact most americans dont vote. Were given 2canidates that are the same. Obama kept us in iraq, keeps deficet spending, and patriot act everything a democrate is suposed to be against is still in tact. Why? because he is a pupet. Obama is nothing more then a good actor. He is no different then geroge bush except bush was an iron fist with obama you get the iron fist in a glove not knowing he is just as bad a bush. that is why he is more dangerous.

50% of americans voted. only 50% more people vote in the american idol elections then vote in the real elections. How sad it that an Acorn probably was 2-3% of that.

The only change comes in the people not a president you dont get it. We need to eat healthier as a nation. Strict disipline when it comes to finace no more spending all this money on a credit card unless you have assets that bring you in alot of money. Start studying the constitution more and less goverment intervention.

Ron paul is going to run in 2012 an were going to take down you loons.

Remember im the majority. Not your left wing nut jobs. 50% of voting americans are unhappy and were going to rise up and take back this country and kick out the corruption and welfare state out. You want that go to europe there plenty of counties that have what you want dont bring it into this country.

Second we should have a system where you pay to use healthcare. If you want healthcare you pay into it if not you can opt out for a private ran system. We allow us to choose between private and public schools why not healthcare. I shouldnt be forced to by somthing. If you want national ran healthcare fine but some of us dont need it because we dont eat out. Look michael moore he so fat from his own weakness to food because he is a gluton. He is disgusting being fat is not a medical condition it is a weakness to not runing or eating foods that are unhealthy. I havent ate fast food in over 2 years you should do the same.

The true cost of the healthcare bill is around $2 trillion. There are substantial unfunded programs including two dozen programs whose funding is listed as "such sums as may be necessary.
