What type of headphones are they? Most of them are comfortable. Is it pain.. physical or do you feel it in your ear (which would be ear damage )

Might be an ear infection but you should see a doctor soon

I suggest you should see a doctor to check up your ears if there's any infection on either of the side.

I get this, unsure if I still have the problem as I moved away from in-ear headphones, I go with nice soft ones that cover my ears, looks odd but feels great :).

Does it hurt, as in a ringing/pain sound? Or just an external hurt from wearing uncomfortable headphones?

If it is internal pain, I would suggest you see the doctor. Otherwise, invest in a good pair of headphones.

I hope you are not listening to music using your head phone on high volume. This can lead to damaging of ear drums. You must visit a doctor. Do try to become your own doctor.

Yes, it is internal or external? I had the same problem with a old pair of Bose headphones.. only after a few hours they would hurt the outside part of my ears.
